Bonus Post: 99 Questions Tag

I'm a little bored today, and am catching up on my YouTube Subscriptions, and saw MsGoldgirl's video on the 99 Question tag, and thought it might be a fun way for a) my readers to get to know me, and b)to waste some time while I'm procrastinating working on a huge blog post that will be coming mid October for the Geek Chic Dangerous To Go Alone collection. (Yes, I do work on blogs sometimes well in advance, especially if they are large posts!)

So, here it goes!

1: Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
My closet doesn't have a door, so I guess it's always open! (It does have a curtain, but the curtain is basically always open.)

2: Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
It depends on the type of shampoo and conditioner. Typically, no.

3: Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
Out, I move around too much to keep them tucked in.

4: Have you ever stolen a street sign before?
Not personally.

5: Do you like to use post-it notes?
I do! I use them often at work.

6: Do you cut out coupons but then never use them?
Yes.

7: Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of a bees?
Notice it says "attacked" by bees but not stung? I wouldn't mind being attacked by bees if they don't sting me.

8: Do you have freckles?
Not really... Like, not on my face or anything, but maybe a few on my arms?

9: Do you always smile for pictures?
It depends, but usually.

10: What is your biggest pet peeve?
I feel like I have quite a few, is that a bad thing? I really dislike people that are not mindful of their germs. Especially during flu season. I also don't like when someone comes up behind me and touches me. It kind of freaks me out! I don't like people touching me without an invitation, in general. I have a feeling when I get pregnant I'm going to want to walk around in a bubble to keep hands away from my belly!

11: Do you ever count your steps when you walk?
Only if I'm wearing a pedometer, which I'd like to get back into doing.

12: Have you ever peed in the woods?
Not that I can recall.

13: What about pooped in the woods?
No.

14: Do you ever dance even if theres no music playing?
All the time!

15: Do you chew your pens and pencils?
No, but sometimes I'll tap the end on my lip.

16: How many people have you slept with this week?
Just the one (my husband).

17: What size is your bed?
Queen. It's a good size for us, I don't see ever wanting a bigger bed.

18: What is your Song of the week?
Gorilla by Bruno Mars.

19: Is it okay for guys to wear pink?
I don't have a problem with it (it's just a color), but I would never buy a pink shirt for my husband. Mostly because I know he wouldn't wear it.

20: Do you still watch cartoons?
All the time- I just watched Tangled last night.

21: Whats your least favorite movie?
I can't think of anything off the top of my head.

22: Where would you bury hidden treasure if you had some?
... why would you tell someone this?

23: What do you drink with dinner?
It depends.

24: What do you dip a chicken nugget in?
Sweet and Sour.

25: What is your favorite food?
I like comfort foods, and italian. I also love a good salad.

26: What movies could you watch over and over and still love?
So many. My husband and I have over 400 movies and I've watched at least half of them at least 3 - 4 times, if not more on some of them.

27: Last person you kissed/kissed you?
My husband for both.

28: Were you ever a boy/girl scout?
No.

29: Would you ever strip or pose nude in a magazine?
Probably not.

I honestly can't remember.

31: Can you change the oil on a car?
I'm sure I could, but I never have.

32: Ever gotten a speeding ticket?
Nope!

33: Ever ran out of gas?
No, I'm actually a fanatic about always making sure I have gas in my car!

34: Favorite kind of sandwich?
I freaking love sandwiches. My favorite sandwich I've ever had has to be the Tuna Salad Sandwich from Point Loma Seafood in San Diego. My brother-in-law recommended I have it last time we were in San Diego visiting them, and I've been having dreams of it ever since. I also love the Tuna Melt at Sequoia Sandwich Company. I clearly like a good Tuna sandwich.

35: Best thing to eat for breakfast?
I'm not sure about the best thing, but I love having bagels for breakfast.

36: What is your usual bedtime?
Usually between 9 and 10 on work nights.

37: Are you lazy?
I do tend towards laziness, but I try my best to not be!

38: When you were a kid, what did you dress up as for Halloween?
I was a ballerina, I was Beetlejuice, I've been a Black Widow (which is funny, because I hate spiders), I was a dead cheerleader, I was Princess Leia... I've been a lot of things!

39: What is your Chinese astrological sign?
Rat

40: How many languages can you speak?
English.

41: Do you have any magazine subscriptions?
So many. I'm actually planning a blog post about that this month!

42: Which are better legos or lincoln logs?
Legos!

43: Are you stubborn?
I can be, but I wouldn't say it's a trait someone would tell someone else I have.

Neither- I watch either Conan or Jimmy Fallon if I watch Late Night anything.

45: Ever watch soap operas?
I never really have!

46: Are you afraid of heights?
Yes.

47: Do you sing in the car?

I've used a BB Gun. I want to take gun lessons, though!

51: Last time you got a portrait taken by a photographer?
Probably at my wedding.

52: Do you think musicals are cheesy?
No, I love musicals!

53: Is Christmas stressful?
Only if you allow it to be! My husband and I generally shop early (usually online either on Thanksgiving or the day after), and get everything wrapped as it comes in.

54: Ever eat a pierogi?
I had to look it up, and I don't think that I have.

55: Favorite type of fruit pie?
I love the chocolate satin pie from Marie Callende'rs.

56: Occupations you wanted to be when you were a kid?
A Teacher, A Librarian, or an Accountant. I am none of those things lol.

57: Do you believe in ghosts?
Yes, I absolutely do.

58: Ever have a Deja-vu feeling?
Quite often.

59: Take a vitamin daily?
No, but I should!

60: Wear slippers?
Sometimes.

61: Wear a bath robe?
Yes.

62: What do you wear to bed?
Depends. Usually a night gown (something like this), a tank and shorts, or a shirt and underwear.

63: First concert?
I think it was Bachman Turner Overdrive at a fair. But if you mean in a venue, it would be The Offspring.

64: Wal-Mart, Target or Kmart?
Target. I haven't been in a Kmart in years (though I do think they have cute stuff, I just always forget about them), and I really prefer not having to go to Wal-Mart.

65: Nike or Adidas?
Nike. Not that I own either, but if I had to choose.

66: Cheetos Or Fritos?
That really depends! To just snack on, probably cheetos.

67: Peanuts or Sunflower seeds?
Probably peanuts.

68: Ever hear of the group Tres Bien?
Nope!

75: Own a record player?
No.

76: Regularly burn incense?
No.

77: Ever been in love?
Yes, and I still am!

78: Who would you like to see in concert?
I'd really enjoy seeing Bruno Mars, or Macklemore. I also want to go see Rush again (they're my favorite band), or Metallica again. Both put on a great show.

79: What was the last concert you saw?
I think Rush a couple of years ago. It's been a long time since I've been to a concert.

80: Hot tea or cold tea?
That really depends on my mood, but I do love a good hot cup of tea!

81: Tea or coffee?
Tea, I dislike the taste of coffee and it makes me jittery.

82: Sugar or snickerdoodles?
Snickerdoodles.

83: Can you swim well?
No, I am not a strong swimmer. I learned to swim later in life, and I attribute that to my inexperience. Plus, I just don't get in the water all that often.

84: Can you hold your breath without holding your nose?
Yes.

85: Are you patient?
Sometimes? Lol.

86: DJ or band, at a wedding?
We had a DJ at our wedding.

87: Ever won a contest?
I've won things before, but I've never been like a grand prize winner.

88: Ever have plastic surgery?
Nope!

89: Which are better black or green olives?
Black.

90: Can you knit or crochet?
No, but I wouldn't mind learning.

91: Best room for a fireplace?
A living or family room.

I am married, and I hope to never have to get married again!

93: If married, how long have you been married?
A year and a few months.

94: Who was your HS crush?
My HS crush ended up being my boyfriend my senior year.

95: Do you cry and throw a fit until you get your own way?
No, I'm an adult.

98: Whats your favorite color?
Purple

99: Do you miss anyone right now?
I kind of miss my grandparents, I should give them a call!

Okay, that was fun! I might do another sometime!

What's in my makeup bag? (As of September 26th, 2013)

Time to switch it up again, and not a moment too soon.
I had way too much going on in my last makeup bag, and needed to simplify a bit!

I decided to use the same eyeliners and primers as last time, with one addition- the Urban Decay Anti-Aging primer potion!

 photo urbandecayanti-agingprimerpotion_zpscc63262f.jpg
I got this sample with a purchase I made at Ulta (ran out of my favorite, must have setting spray- All Nighter), and so far, I'm enjoying it, and it may be comparable to my Too Faced Shadow Insurance! I'm not a fan, at all, of the original or sin formula of primer potion, so I am really surprised! I'm going to keep using it and will give a full review later!

For mascara, I decided to almost completely switch it up.

 photo toofacedlashgasmbaremineralslashdominationflawlessdefinitioncovergirlclumpcrusher_zps595dbf1f.jpg
As I have mentioned before, I LOVE Too Faced LashGASM. My friend Jeanette gave me the sample of Bare Minerals Lash Domination, and I'm still forming my opinions. Currently, I find it to be extremely wet and clumpy, but I've only used it three times. The Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Mascara is quickly becoming one of my favorites, and is even outranking the volumizing formula, which is one of my favorite mascaras ever. And, finally, the Cover Girl Clump Crusher mascara, which I also really like.

For eyeshadows, I decided to use the Bare Minerals eyeshadows I received in my Bare Escentuals Beauty Surprise Collection Box. So far, I'm not super impressed with the pigmentation, but I haven't tried using them wet yet.

 photo baremineralspealsateensmokysagegraphite_zps98228c8e.jpg

I also pulled out my Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette.

 photo nakedbasics_zps88a2839f.jpg
I plan on trying to recreate all of the looks on my Pinspiration post!

I decided to keep this out, too- this palette currently only contains Sin, but I plan on trying to pick up a couple more colors soon.

 photo urbandecaypalette_zps1e0edeef.jpg

And, lastly, I decided to break back out my NYX For Your Eyes Only Green Eyes palette. I definitely want to experiment with the green shades in this one.

 photo nyxbeautifulgreeneyespalette_zps60c1eb76.jpg

I also decided to break back out my color tattoos.

 photo colortattoobadtothebronze_zpsa6e4a55f.jpg
(Bad to the Bronze)

 photo maybellinecolortattoobarelybrandedinkedinpink_zpsda7134cd.jpg
(Barely Branded and Inked in Pink)

These are definitely key to a quick look when I just need to get out of the door- especially Bad to the Bronze. In 10 seconds, I can look completely pulled together.

For primer, I decided to use two of my faves - Pond Luminous BB+, and L'oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB.

 photo pondsbbcreamlorealbb_zpsb9e2994b.jpg

I put up a review on the Ponds BB+ Cream last week, and I have a review of the L'oreal one in the works. I love both of these products!

I also decided to break out one of my liquid foundations, since temperatures are cooling down.

 photo marykeytimewisefoundation_zps8a244ba0.jpg
This is the Mary Kay Timewise foundation. I'm not a huge fan of liquid foundation in general, and I'm still playing with this one, but so far I like it.

I also am going to use my Bare Minerals Original Foundation and Mineral Veil.

 photo baremineralsfairlylightoriginalmineralveil_zpsfe3bfa37.jpg
I'm so glad I got these in my Suprise Box- I've been without Bare Minerals for a long time, and even though I had convinced myself the L'oreal mineral powder is the same, it's not. It's a good substitute, but it is not the same.

Lastly, the only blush I decided to keep out- Avon Smooth Minerals in Rose Radiance.

 photo avonsmoothminerasroseradiance_zps2af392eb.jpg
I love this. I've had it for a really, really long time (see that 2009 sticker?? Yeah...) but it's just so pretty!

And that's it!

Book Review: Self-Inflicted Wounds: Heartwarming Tales of Epic Humiliation by Aisha Tyler

 photo aishatylerselfinflictedwounds_zpse3850c75.jpg

Description from Good Reads
Comedian, actress, co-host of CBS's daytime hit The Talk, and creator of the top-ranked podcast Girl on Guy, Aisha Tyler offers a collection of hysterical and unflinchingly personal essays about the spectacular mistakes she has made in her life and what those epic fails have taught her. A fun, revealing and savory read, Self-Inflicted Wounds is about the power of calamity to shape life, learning, and success-as well as a really funny book about a woman's lifelong collection of wonderfully massive screw ups

On the hit comedy podcast Girl on Guy, comedian and actress Aisha Tyler talks with actors, artists, musicians, athletes and iconoclasts about their path to personal and professional success, in forthcoming and sometimes shocking conversation. The coda of the show is Self-Inflicted Wounds-where Aisha's guests recount something they've done that was ill-conceived, dangerous, or just plain dumb-with hilarious or poignant ends. In her book Self-Inflicted Wounds Aisha turns the lens on herself, recounting spectacularly comedic mistakes and stories of crushing personal humiliation, along with what she's learned. Riotous, revealing, and wonderfully relatable, Self-Inflicted Wounds showcases a sharp comedic voice on the rise.

My Review
I am a fan of Aisha Tyler. I enjoy her stand up, I semi-regularly listen to her podcast, and I sometimes watch her on television. And I really enjoyed this book.

It was so funny! I laughed out loud multiple times. I love that she is super smart, but self-depreciating at the same time. She knows when she messes up, and can laugh at herself about it. I admire that quality so much, because I'm not the same.

All of her stories are true, and hilarious. I kind of wish the whole book was about her dad, though- every story he was involved in was my favorite.

Although this is not a "self-help" book, I bet this book could help a lot of people. Even if you just learn to laugh at yourself, sometimes that is help enough. Though I've heard quite a few reviews saying "she never learned anything" and "there is too much bad language in this book", I would like to argue the following: If you even knew about her, you would know about the language. And not everyone stops doing things just because they make a mistake- but at least she is acknowledging them and she knows them, unlike some people that continue to do the same thing over and over again not even knowing how detrimental it is to themselves. She knows, and acknowledges. And it is hilarious.

The book contains multiple stories about Aisha's "self-inflicted wounds"- that is, the times in her life she has done something that either is harmful to herself physically, emotionally, or mentally, and the price she pays for those things. The way she relays the story keeps the reader engaged, and wanting more. I know I did.

I highly recommend this book, especially if you are a fan of hers. But even if you aren't a fan, this is a well-written, funny book, about people hurting only themselves.

You can purchase a hard copy of this book here, or a Kindle copy here.

Emmy Red Carpet 2013

I love award shows. Specifically, I love the Emmys, The Golden Globes, and the Oscars. I always watch the red carpet events, too! I even live tweet them over on my twitter (@ashimilie- link in the sidebar), if you're into that sort of thing.

I usually pin the looks I love on pinterest, and I've done that again this year, but I thought it would be fun to do a blog post on my favorite (and least favorite) looks, too!
You can find all my pins on my Red Carpet board.

In case you like more than just the fashion, here is a list of all of the winners!

Overall I'm a little underwhelmed by the choices. I'm by no means a "fashion expert", but I was expecting more.

By far, my favorite of the night was Tina Fey. She looks natural, the dress is a flattering cut and makes her looks beautiful, it's a perfect color... she got every single thing right.
 photo tfemmys2013_zps90328f39.jpg

Carrie Underwood looking super classy and understated. I am a firm believer that if it's not "your night" you should dress nice, but not overdone, and I think Carrie accomplished this.
 photo cuemmys2013_zps81049aac.jpg

Anna Gunn from Breaking Bad, love that blush skirt- so unexpected for fall! And it was the perfect dress to win in!
 photo agemmys2013_zps758432e4.jpg

Sofia Vergara from Modern Family, showing off her goods, as usual, in a mermaid dress, as usual. But she wears it so well, and looks great!
 photo svemmys2013_zpsee5e3f13.jpg

Elizabeth Moss from Mad Men in classic black and white. And I'm LOVING her hair!
 photo ememmys2013_zps8015779d.jpg

Kaley Cuoco from Big Bang Theory took a major risk with that burgundy make up and it paid off big time. She looks so sexy and stunning! I'm not usually a fan of the ruffles or cut outs, but something about this dress I just love!
 photo kcemmys2013_zps29b61a1b.jpg

Maria Menounos in a gorgeous midnight blue dress, and I am not one to love a statement necklace, but this one is gorgeous and she pulls it off!
 photo mmemmys2013_zps50f58b1a.jpg

Christina Hendricks from Mad Men. She is almost always one of my faves and one of the ones I look forward to seeing, and she almost never disappoints!
 photo chemmys2013_zpsd7eb8f79.jpg

Jane Lynch. I love a lady in a suit.
 photo jlemmys2013_zpsbbc6785c.jpg

One of the gorgeous couples of the night is Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt. I may be in the minority, but I love the "Hamm Beard".
 photo jhandjwemmys2013_zpsc561973b.jpg

Here are the looks that I just don't get.

Connie Britton from Nashville in what looks to be a very fancy window treatment.
 photo cbemmys2013_zps3e5592a6.png

Jessica Pare from Mad Men in a dress that is doing no favors to her. I am one of the few that actually likes her character in Mad Men, but I do not like this dress.
 photo jpemmys2013_zpsa4b7b4c0.jpg

Zosia Mamet from Girls. I just do not get the black band across the bust- it's so awkward! And I don't like the cut of the top in general. I think if it was just the skirt portion with a plain white top, or even the pattern continued as strapless, this would have been one of my favorites.
 photo zmemmys2013_zpse87c5f4e.jpg

Amanda Peet. I can't even say anything worse than  .... D:

How did you guys like the Emmy's, and the fashions?

Ponds Luminous Finish BB+ Cream Review

Today I'm going to be reviewing the Ponds Luminous Finish BB+ Cream.

 photo PondsLuminousFinishBBCreamLight_zps102832ca.jpg
(My box was the last one, and was kind of beat up!)

I'm sure by now everyone has heard the hype surrounding this product. And I have to say, it is definitely warranted!

 photo PondsLuminousFinishBBCreamLight2_zpsa4537e7a.jpg

I got the shade in Light. It's currently the lightest shade of two being offered by the line- the other is medium.

 photo PondsLuminousFinishBBCreamLight3_zps64283637.jpg

I really, really love the packaging. It's so sleek and shiny! It's compact, and has a nice nozzle. It also clicks shut nicely, so I'm not worried that this could become unscrewed in my makeup bag and make a mess.

 photo PondsLuminousFinishBBCreamLightSwatch_zps0f5ba1c7.jpg

The product itself is on the thick side, but I think this just helps it to blend more! It definitely stays where you want it to, and provides a nice, even cover.

 photo PondsLuminousFinishBBCreamLightSwatch2_zps883cc83a.jpg

I layed on the swatch thick, but you can see it is blending quite nice, and covers quite a bit. I feel like, on my good skin days, I could just wear this and a setting powder, and feel perfectly comfortable. It is much better than the Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream, in terms of both the way it blends, and the coverage.

For the money, it is definitely a good buy if you're looking for a BB cream!

You can purchase the Ponds Luminous Finish BB+ Cream from Amazon.com for $10.99. I've also been able to find this recently at most of the major drug stores, as well as Target and Walmart.

Wishlist Wednesday: Lorac Unzipped Palette

As if I don't own enough palettes, lately I've been coveting the Lorac Unzipped Palette.

 photo loracunzipped_zps6c09a665.jpg

This gorgeous palette contains 10 eyeshadows, which are a mix of matte and shimmer, and also includes a mini eye primer. The shades are Undercover (Nude Matte), Unbelievable (Copper Shimmer), Unattainable (Bronze Shimmer), Unconditional (Fawn Matte), Unbridled (Merlot Matte), Undiscovered (Gold Shimmer), Unreal (Champagne Shimmer), Uncensored (Chocolate Shimmer), Unspoken (Sable Matte), and Untamed (Bordeaux Shimmer).

I am still loving my Lorac Pro Palette (which I reviewed here), and this seems like it would compliment it extremely well! I feel like there is not a single color in here that would not get regular use, which is also awesome, because I find that there is usually one or two shades that I'm more "meh" about that don't really get used. And what's the point of having a complete set of colors that don't all get used?

You can purchase this palette from Sephora for $40.00 or Amazon.com for $42.00.

Book Review: Kiss Me First by Lottie Moggach

 photo KissMeFirstLottieMoggach_zps13d53e78.jpg

Description from Good Reads
A chilling and intense first novel, the story of a solitary young woman drawn into an online world run by a charismatic web guru who entices her into impersonating a glamorous but desperate woman.

When Leila discovers the Web site Red Pill, she feels she has finally found people who understand her. A sheltered young woman raised by her mother, Leila has often struggled to connect with the girls at school; but on Red Pill, a chat forum for ethical debate, Leila comes into her own, impressing the Web site's founder, a brilliant and elusive man named Adrian. Leila is thrilled when Adrian asks to meet her, flattered when he invites her to be part of "Project Tess." Tess is a woman Leila might never have met in real life. She is beautiful, urbane, witty, and damaged. As they e-mail, chat, and Skype, Leila becomes enveloped in the world of Tess, learning every single thing she can about this other woman—because soon, Leila will have to become her. An ingeniously plotted novel of stolen identity, Kiss Me First is brilliantly frightening about the lies we tell—to ourselves, to others, for good, and for ill.

My Review
I really liked the premise of this book- "loner" girl finds a connection with an online community, then the owner of said community provide her the opportunity to "take over" another's life. I think that's where the misunderstanding began- I thought by taking over her life, she would literally be becoming her, but that's not at all what happened.

Leila's mother passes away after a long battle with MS. She is then on her own, doing web work for a relative when she stumbles across the site Red Pill. Red Pill is full of other members much like Leila, and is full of lively debates. She feels at home there. Then, the owner of the site, Adrian, reaches out to Leila to discuss Project Tess.
Project Tess is not becoming Tess, but rather, allowing this woman to run off and kill herself in peace, while Leila impersonates her online so as not to alert her family to the fact that she is missing. She is offered an amount of money that it will take her to live on, just barely, as this will quickly become her only job.

Tess is not a likeable person. I am not sure if I was supposed to feel sorry for her, since she wanted to kill herself, but I didn't. It's not that she's  a horrible person, I just felt no remorse for her knowing that she would be offing herself.
To be truthful, I thought Adrian was a scumbag, even before the discoveries of who he is later in the book. I really didn't even like Leila, but she is one of those "unlikeable" characters. Much like Lisabeth Lysander from the Girl with a Dragon Tattoo novels, but with no real moral compass, and nothing to empathize with her about. Sure, I felt sorry for her for having to handle her mother's illness, but overall, I just thought of her as sad, and lonely.

The book is written in a way that suggests Leila is writing to someone, but unless I missed something, it is never really clear who she is writing to. And when everything Adrian did comes to fruition  and Leila is in danger, I never once felt scared for her. I stopped turning pages at the precise moment I should've been trying to get through the book faster to find resolution. And it took me quite a while to finish this book, because I didn't really care where it concluded.

This is a book without any real resolution to it- you're left to make your own assumptions and draw your own conclusions on the lives of Adrian, Tess, and Leila herself.

I gave this book three stars on Good Reads. For the first 100 pages or so, I was flying through this book because the set up was so exciting. But the execution was lacking.

You can purchase a physical copy of this book here , and a Kindle copy of the book here .

Geek Chic It's Dangerous To Go Alone Collection Swatches

I received this in the mail on Saturday (which is when I'm writing this post), and I couldn't wait to open and swatch it! This isn't really a "review" post, as I haven't used any of these shades on my eyes yet, but I definitely got a feel for them when I swatched them!

If you're not familiar with Geek Chic Cosmetics, I gave kind of an overview of who there are in this post.

The description from Geek Chic for the collection is as follows: You ever want to set fire to a random bush on the side of road to see if it leads to a dungeon or some old man selling stuff at incredibly inflated prices? Us too.

I grew up with the Legend of Zelda being played in my home. I loved to play Ocarina of Time (especially the fishing part), and my little brother is a huge fan! So I couldn't resist when I saw this set was on sale last month.

The Dangerous To Go Alone Set includes 5 eyeshadows based on the Legend of Zelda. As with my other post, all descriptions of the product are taken directly from the Geek Chic Cosmetics product page to ensure accuracy. And as with the other post, the Left swatch is dry, and the Right swatch is wet.

I love the packaging!!!

Chosen One

 photo geekchicchosenone_zpsb575d513.jpg

Description: Chosen One is a deep emerald green with tons of gold and green sparkle. It is so intense and beautiful we're sure you won't mind dropping a few of your hard earned rupees to take it home with you! This product is NOT lip safe.

I really wish the sparkle was more visible, because this shade may overshadow The Righteous Man as my favorite, most flattering green. I wonder if they'd actually wear well together? I'll have to give it a try!

Desert Chic

I was a little afraid of this color when I saw it on the website, but in seeing it in person, it's not as scary as I thought it would be. I don't know that I'll be using this all over my lids or under my eyes at all, but I can see using it a little on the outer corners, or maybe mixed with something else.

Excuuse Me, Princess!

 photo geekchicexcuuusemeprincess_zpsa54e377b.jpg

Description: Excuse Me, Princess is a soft purple with violet interference, and gold shimmer. It's an awesome color for the gamer chick on the girly side.

This came with a little bit of a mess- it was unopened, but there was some spillage. I'm not too upset about that, though, because it was only spilled inside of the container, not in the package with the other shadows.

This is really pretty. I wish the gold shimmer was coming through more on the swatch! You can see a better swatch over on Oh That Jenna's blog. I am really thinking about creating a nail polish with this color.

Power, Wisdom, Courage

Description: Power Wisdom Courage is a beautiful gilded yellow-gold with bunches of shimmer and golden sparkle. Makes a bold statement and goes great with green and hazel eyes!

The shimmer in this shadow is gorgeous! Again, this was a shade I was a little afraid of, but I think I can work with it!

Twilight Princess

 photo geekchictwilightprincess_zps97fbfea1.jpg

Description: Twilight Princess is a stunning gunmetal/green duo-chrome. Pictures do not do this shadow justice! Great for an earthy smokey eye! Can used wet for a fierce eyeliner! This product is NOT lip safe.

Another shade I cannot wait to put on my eyes. And again, the swatch does not do this justice. Mine leans more gunmetal, but I think the green duochrome brings something so special to the shadow.

Of all the shades, I recommend Twilight Princess and Chosen One if you want to purchase them separately.

You can purchase the complete collection from the Geek Chic website for $23.96, or each individual shade is available for $5.99.

I did end up purchasing the Witchcraft and Wizardry collection, and will be posting a review on that next month!
