Wet n' Wild Wild Shine in Straight A Jesse

Wet N' Wild Wild Shine in Straight A Jesse

This is from the Saved by the Bell collection that Wet n' Wild issued a few years ago. It's probably one of my favorite colors that I own, because it's so obnoxious, but also a really good orange for my skin tone. I'm not a fan of how it really never gets opaque (it is a neon polish), but I'm sure if I used a white base first, it wouldn't be a problem.

This is my last nail polish post. I'm still going to post nail stuff, but not as a monthly series. I keep forgetting to take pictures when I paint my nails, and by the time I remember, it doesn't look great. I post pictures every so often on instagram, so I'll link to those for my Nail Polish collection page- I always used to remember to do that, I just don't really when it's with my camera.
Something else will be replacing this series, which you guys will see on the 9th!

This Month in Nails - April 2014

Love & Beauty in Wine with a top coat of Revlon's Facets of Fuchsia

Love and Beauty in Wine and Revlon Facets Of Fuchsia

Love and Beauty in Wine and Revlon Facets Of Fuchsia

This wasn't one of my favorite combos ever, but I forgot how much I love Facets of Fuchsia! Definitely the anti-Spring nail, but it was fun.

Ulta in Baby Doll with a top coat of Wet n' Wild Fergie in Rock n' Roll

Ulta in Baby Doll and Wet n' Wild Fergie in Rock n' Roll

Ulta Baby Doll and Wet n' Wild Fergie in Rock 'n Roll

This is one of my least favorite combos ever- I thought it would look so much better in my head, but forgot how dark the base was in the Fergie polish. Oh well, lesson learned.
Baby Doll is one of my absolute favorite neutrals, though. Love it.

So, that's it, because I had a really bad experience with my nails. *Sigh*
I told you guys, it's a process.

FTC: Please see above for how polishes were received. Unless stated otherwise, they were purchased by me with my own money.

Perfect Palette Tag

I've seen this around YouTube and I thought it would be a really fun tag to do!

1. Best Packaging

 photo packaging_zpsfa4a6322.jpg
I have to give it to the Naked Basics. I love that the mirror stays in place. I love how sleek it is. It's not always easy to open, but I do wish more of my palettes were like this, basically because I can set it on a table and it will stay open.

2. Best Color Payoff

 photo loracnaked_zps13f6400b.jpg
It's a tie between my Lorac Pro Palette, and my original Naked Palette. I feel like the color payoff on both of these is really true to pan.

3. Most Versatile

 photo fave_zpsb37ede80.jpg
This definitely goes to the Lorac pro. I can create any look I want with this palette- from super neutral to dark and smoky. Anything I want to do, eyes wise, I can do!

4. Best for Traveling

 photo loracbasicallynaked_zps7f960ae0.jpg
This is also a tie! If I need to go somewhere, these are the two palettes that I want with me. It's not that the Lorac doesn't have enough mattes- it certainly does! But between the two, I have a mirror that can stay open, and enough of a mix of mattes and shimmers that I can do any look I need to!

5. Biggest Regret

 photo regret_zpse8e6d290.jpg
This is also a tie. I may lose seriously blogger cred, but I don't get the love with the wet 'n wild  eyeshadow palettes- at least not this one. I get crazy fallout, the shades are chalky so they don't blend well- I just don't get it! I really need to just purge this out of my collection. I'm willing to try some of the other wet 'n wilds because this could be a fluke, but I regret buying this.
The Cover Girl palette I mainly got for the green and blue, and now I have better quality makeup that I don't absolutely need a white base to get absolute color payoff. I would have to layer so much eye shadow on my eyes to get close to the shade in the pan that it just wasn't worth it.

6. Best Color Names

 photo funnestnames_zps441132ac.jpg
Of the palettes I have, it has to be this palette. I think Too Faced really does come up with the funnest names! The names of this palette include Cut the Cake, Hot Cocoa, Lovey Dovey, and Licorice Latte, to name a few.

7. Least Used
I think it's safe to say that my least used is also the ones listed under "biggest regret". I don't use those much because I'm not into the color payoff or the fallout. I really just need to trash them.

8. Most Used, Most Loved, Desert Island
The Lorac Pro! It's listed in several categories, and I am just so in love with it. It's the only palette I own that I can actually see having to replace the whole thing because I will have run out of virtually every shade. There isn't a single shade I dislike in this palette, and all are pigmented and flattering shades for my skin tone. I can get any look I want (as I said above), and I never worry about not being able to come up with one look using ONLY this palette (I usually have to use more than one if I'm using any other palette I own). Overall, this is the palette I will go back to.

I Tag: Jenna and Allie, specifically, and any of you that want to do it! If you've already done this tag, please feel free to leave a comment to the post or YouTube video, and I will definitely go check it out!

This Month in Nails - September 2013

Here is what I wore on my nails in September!

China Glaze in In The Lime Light with an overcoat of Wet n' Wild Shine in Nerd Alert: Screech with an accent nail of Avon in Mink with a white art polish design

That's probably the longest title for a polish design I will ever write!

 photo footballnailschinaglazeinthelimelight_zpsb9de38bb.jpg

I pulled the inspiration for this design on my last month's Simple but Pretty Nail Art Pinspiration post, and this specifically comes from Polish and Pearls blog (aka MissJenFABULOUS on YouTube). Obviously it's not exactly the same, but I like the way I chose to do this.

In The Lime Light is a polish I bought because it's so obnoxious. It's a neon, so there are some issues with building it up, and streaking. So I decided to layer over a coat of Nerd Alert: Screech.

 photo footballnailswetnwildshinenerdalertscreech_zps999d01db.jpg

I really like the way the combo turned out!

 photo comparisonnerdalertscreechandinthelimelight_zps66069919.jpg

This is just a comparison showing these are not dupe polishes!

 photo footballnailsavonmink_zps666d3c0c.jpg

The brown I chose is actually the only brown I own! But I really like it!

Sally Hansen in Laced Up

I really like the Sally Hansen nail stickers. But it seems like every time I use them, the quality has gone down. These ones only lasted a few days.

 photo saloneffectslacedup2_zpsc0112152.jpg

The pattern on these is really pretty, and I will definitely use them again, maybe for an accent nail or something. But like I said, I feel the quality has gone down a bit. Maybe it's just this particular one, I'm not sure.

And that concludes this month in nails.
I'm a reformed nail biter, and after this mani, I kind of went crazy. So I'm trying to let my nails grow out a bit. Hopefully they will be grown out soon!

This Month in Nails - July

I love nail polish. Actually, I'm a little obsessed. I can spend hours researching swatches, and going through nail blogs looking at the beautiful colors and designs.  I own over 70 bottles myself now, which isn't much for some, but is a whole bunch for others.

I thought I would do a monthly series on my nails- what I wore, how I liked it, etc.

I apologize in advance for any wonky nails, tip wear, etc in any of the nail pics. I am still learning and trying my best!

Wet n' Wild Shine in Chick Magnet Zack
This is from the Wet n' Wild Saved by the Bell collection that was only available in a handful of places. I got really lucky and scored two sets of all of them, one for me and one for my friend Jeanette.

 photo image_zpse1fca70a.jpg

This is a shimmery neon, but it is slightly thicker than the others in this collection. I don't feel like I need more than two coats with this one. It dries matte, like most neons tend to do, and as you can tell, I've added a top coat. (I'm a fan of a glossy nail!) It is one of the most beautiful blue polishes I won, and probably one of my very favorites of my collection. Plus, it's named after one of my childhood crushes. I couldn't resist!
(My absolute favorite swatches of this polish can be found on the SayAnythingBrooke blog.)

Fingerpaints in Gimme Some Sugar with China Glaze Scattered & Tattered
I picked up Gimme Some Sugar as a gift-with-purchase at Sally Beauty awhile back during one of their sales, and I just recently purchased Scattered and Tattered on clearance as a red-tagged item.

 photo 071013066_zpsa31267ab.jpg

Gimme Some Sugar is an absolutely beautiful pink- I actually called it Easter Pink when I first purchased it!
Scattered and Tattered has the redish glitters you see, and some really pretty pink glitter, as well as some bar glitter (which I am not a fan of, but I like the way it looks in this polish).

I really enjoyed this combo together!

And then I broke a nail. And another. So I didn't paint my nails for awhile.

Love and Beauty in Light Blue with an accent nail of Avon Fusion and two nails with Revlon Whimsical

I coveted this Light Blue polish for about a month before going back to get it. Avon Fusion was one of the first nail polishes I ever bought when I started getting into nail polish. Revlon Whimsical to me was just a really fun, multicolored glitter that I needed in my life.

 photo LoveandBeautyForever21LightBlue_zpsc9c2b5e6.jpg
(See that ring finger nail? That's the one I broke. Oh yeah, and then two days after this paint job, I broke it AGAIN. It was super painful.)

Orly in Mysterious Curse
I just picked this up a couple weekends ago at Sally Beauty- they had a bunch of Orly and China Glaze polishes on sale (which I tweeted about, so if you are interested in these types of things, be sure to follow me on twitter!)

 photo OrlyMysteriousCurse_zps7ec6b0cf.jpg
(see that ring finger nail? That is after three days of growth. Sorry it looks so bad, guys!)

I love this polish so much. You can see the color shimmering through the bottle, and on the nail. It's just gorgeous!

Here's a closer look. Again, obviously I am just a girl that does her nails, and they don't look perfect by any means!

 photo OrlyMysteriousCurse3_zps428ad3c1.jpg

The polish was a tiny bit thick in some places, but it built up to opacity nicely. I might make a ring out of this one when I get some silver bases.

That's it for this month- with the broken nails, I just wasn't motivated to keep up with my nails. But August should be a better month in terms of nails!
