What's In My Makeup Bag? (As of August 7th, 2014)

 photo wimmb_080714_zps5a8e88a8.jpg

My primers and liners for the month. That Coola Tinted Matte moisturizer is almost completely gone, so I just shoved it in there to make sure I finish using it. And I would like to keep trying to use that bareMinerals 5-in-1 that I received in my ipsy bag last month.

 photo wimmb_080714_2_zpsc972d0fb.jpg

All new mascaras! And I have to say, I have used that CKone mascara so much since receiving it from Ulta as a birthday gift! It is quickly becoming one of my favorites!

 photo wimmb_080714_3_zpse7dd5be7.jpg

I decided I wanted to keep playing with my Lorac Pro 2 palette. And I figured I'd play some more with Naked 2 as well. The Glamour To Go palette is more out for the blush and bronzer, and I'm still really, really loving the Jouer palette, and wanted to keep that handy.

 photo wimmb_080714_4_zps801d2985.jpg

While in San Diego, my sister-in-law gifted me that Tarte Exposed blush, which I believe she received in a Pop Sugar box. I've used it a couple of times and I like it! It's a really pretty color! The blush is an old favorite, and the bronzer, which I really like, is also from last month's ipsy bag.

 photo wimmb_080714_5_zps28fbb36e.jpg

And finally... face! I am almost done with that lumene time freeze, so I decided to try and finish it off this month. And I really need to use that concealer more!

I'm pretty excited about my choices this month! I've used the Lorac Pro 2 and the Naked 2 together, and some of the colors just look so pretty blended together!

My new makeup organization set up

Here is is- my new makeup organization!

 photo makeuparmoire_1_zps55fa5584.jpg

This is a jewelry armoire that my mother-in-law gave me, and it sits in my closet. I don't have near enough jewelry (or even the jewelry box I have on top of it!) to fill an armoire, but I figured this would be perfect for my makeup!

 photo makeuparmoire_2_zps423fce53.jpg

The top drawer houses all my single eyeshadows or small duos/trios/quads, and my color tattoos. It has little dividers, which is helpful to keep everything organized! I also put my sharpeners here, but I really don't use those much since, as a general rule, I buy twist-up liners.

 photo makeuparmoire_3_zps099567cd.jpg

The next drawer down is where I decided to keep my Geek Chic Cosmetics eyeshadows organized. Again, this drawer also came with the dividers, so they just fit in there perfectly!

 photo makeuparmoire_4_zps878deb27.jpg

The next drawer is where I'm keeping all my face products- primers, blushes, foundations, eyeshadow powders, bronzers- anything I put on my face.

 photo makeuparmoire_5_zpsfb492342.jpg

Next down is lip products. That pink divider is left over from my old set up, but it fits in there and is definitely helpful for keeping those little ones separate from the rest. At least, it probably will be when I get more lip products. I don't own too many, as you can see, because I rarely use anything on my lips other than a chapstick or lip smacker. I need to fix that.

 photo makeuparmoire_6_zpsc655ac3a.jpg

Next down is eye primers, mascaras, shadow sticks, eyeliners, pencils, etc. This drawer is pretty full!

 photo makeuparmoire_7_zps9afc3c19.jpg

Next drawer down is where I keep a majority of my palettes, and I've tried to organize them as best I can be brand. There is more room than it looks like in here, so I definitely can fit a few more.

 photo makeuparmoire_8_zpsdb28528a.jpg

Second from the bottom is my brush drawer. I used a container from my old set up, and put my makeup bag inside of it. Then, I basically just put the extra brushes around it. I pretty much only use the brushes in the bag, and that's out on my vanity anyway when it's not put away in the drawer.

 photo makeuparmoire_9_zps0d509186.jpg

And the very bottom drawer is for extras/doubles or whatever doesn't really go anywhere else.

 photo makeuparmoire_10_zps96b5f3c5.jpg

And here's what's on top- my jewelry box, a couple of palettes that don't fit in the drawer, my Urban Decay Urban Bride box that was a gift from my sis-in-law (it's empty now), and a jar my aunt gave me as a bridal shower gift (it has a broach of hers, as well as a couple jewels that were on the tables at my wedding). That front small purple and white box did have marshmallow body powder (it was in the Urban Bride set), but I almost knocked it over multiple times and will never use it, so it's gone now.

So that's my new set up! I was thinking about getting the Alex 9 system that I've seen around so much, but when my mother-in-law offered me this, I could not refuse! It's pretty much perfect for my needs!

What's In My Makeup Bag? (As of July 1st, 2014)

So, I did something...
I bought the Lorac Pro Palette 2.
 photo wimmb_070314_3_zpsbfb17e2e.jpg

So, of course, I have to use it this month! I have a post coming next week with swatches and my review, but I've been using it a couple of days, and I'm pretty in love with it! I figured what better to use it with than the original pro palette, and I'm throwing in a sephora palette that has eight eyeshadows and a blush that I really like to use, as well. (It also has four lipglosses, but I'm not a fan of those.)

 photo wimmb_070314_zps66270627.jpg

For face, I'm sticking with bareminerals, but I'm going back to the Ponds BB cream.

 photo wimmb_070314_2_zpseeaa76c3.jpg

For blushes, I'm back to my Ulta blush in Exposed, and my Avon smooth minerals blush. Both tried and true shades that I just love so much!

 photo wimmb_070314_4_zps69701cfc.jpg

In moving and going through my makeup, I found a totally unopened bottle of Urban Decay Primer Potion, and although it's never been a favorite of mine, I decided to give it a try again. I also have to have out my Too Faced, as usual, and I'm also pretty obsessed with this Urban Decay Anti-Aging Primer Potion, so I decided to keep that out, too.

 photo wimmb_070314_5_zps28d1eec1.jpg

And finally, mascara. I had a picture of my eyeliners (I just have a brown and silver, as well as an eyebrightener), but it apparently got eaten up somehow . I'm keeping it simple this month for mascara, but I did get this L'oreal Voluminous Manga mascara to try. I'm still deciding how I feel about it, mostly I feel pretty positive!

And thats it for this month! As you can tell, my lighting set up is still not great, and these pictures are actually taken on my new makeup set up, which you guys will also be seeing next week!

What's In My Makeup Bag? (As of June 5th, 2014)

It's that time again!

What's in my makeup bag?

Foundations- the same as last month. It's working for me!

What's in my makeup bag?

I've been wanting to break all three of these babies out since the last time I used them, so here they are! I actually cheated and used the blush in the Lorac Pro palette twice last month. So I knew this month I needed it out.

What's in my makeup bag?

I also really wanted this Tarte blush out- it will be PERFECT for summer! And the elf blush is staying out because I wore it probably 5 out of 7 days of the week last month.

What's in my makeup bag?

I decided to keep the CKone mascara out because it's really been working this last month- I wore it on the day of my grandma's funeral with just a little of the lash blast on top, and there was no smudging at all. I think that's the sign of a pretty good mascara!
I also wanted to give the butterfly and the lash domination mascara another go now that their a little more dry.

That's everything in my makeup bag this month! I still need to do an update on what I use for eyeliners and such- I just need to get it scheduled and show you guys!

What's in my makeup bag? (As of May 8th, 2014)

It's a new month, time to change it up again!
(Old background- I wasn't in the mood (read: too lazy) to get out my photo studio.)

 What's In My Makeup Bag

Foundations- pretty much the same as last month, but I'm adding the Revlon BB Cream. I really need to use this up, so I'm going to try to focus on that more than the others.

What's in my makeup bag

I hit pan on a couple of these blushes, as you can see, so they are well loved. Eventually I need to pick up a new Ulta blush in Exposed, because it's one of my favorite that I own.
And I can't buy Pink Glow by Physician's Formula anymore (as far as I can tell, it's been discontinued), but I'm honestly sick of saying that to myself, and I should just enjoy it, so I am!

What's in my makeup bag

Time to give up being Naked and get out my Lorac Pro! To complement them, I am bringing two old Tarte Eyeshadows in Sweet Valley High (which is also discontinued and almost dead) and West Egg (which has some severe pan-hittage). Also I'm using a Too Faced Duo, and two Bareminerals shades.

What's in my makeup bag

And mascaras- all really good staying power formulas, because it's starting to get warm here!

What are you all liking for this month??

What's in my makeup bag? (As of April 3rd, 2014)

New month, new makeup!

What's in my makeup bag?

I got a new foundation and powder! I was hanging out at Sephora looking around, because I wanted to try a liquid foundation. The girl at my Sephora was super nice, and did one of those color matching things, and helped me decide on the CoverFX Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation and the Cover FX Illuminating Setting Powder. I've been using this for about a week, and I really, really like it! It's been so long since I've used a liquid foundation on a regular basis, and I'm surprised how much I am enjoying it. Definitely worth the price I paid.
(I also like that the Color thing matched me with a Dior and a Lancome foundation, and she steered me toward this anyway. I know they don't work off of commission at Sephora, but it's rare that they don't always recommend the most expensive thing.)

What's in my makeup bag?

I'm also going to be trying to use these babies from Geek Chic more.

Let me know if you guys like this way of me showing you what I'll be using for the month, or the old way. This way obviously takes me less time, but I'll definitely go back to the other way if you guys like it more.

What's in my makeup bag? (As of March 6th, 2014)

I was so ready for a change!

So, I ran out of mineral veil, and got suckered into this pretty little thing when I decided to go ahead and get more foundation as well.
bare minerals fairly light foundation

Like... I'm not usually one for stuff like this, but SO PRETTY!

bare minerals fairly light foundation

And for size reference, this is a standard size and the deluxe side by side. I'm not sure how long it's going to be available, but as of this post, you can purchase your own here.

 photo wimmb030514_3_zps7fe9b244.jpg

For eye shadows, I decided to use my newest palette, the Tarte Be MATTEnificient palette, the Urban Decay Ammo Palette, and the Urban Decay Naked Palette.
I really love the Tarte palette, and I'm going to have a review up on it in next week.

maybelline color tattoos

I'm also breaking out color tattoos, and I got two new ones! From Left to Right: Bad To The Bronze, Audacious Asphalt (this is new to my collection), and Tough as Taupe (also new).

bare minerals queen phyllis eye shadow

Because I'm a member of the Bare Minerals Friends and Benefits Program, I received a free birthday eye shadow in Queen Phyllis.

It's really pretty- very neutral, but nice. It's becoming a new favorite lid color!

make up for ever smokey eyes mascara

I got the Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash mascara in my birthday order with Sephora (I also ordered the Tarte Palette), and this is becoming a definite must have!

 photo wimmb030514_9_zps6c4db796.jpg

And the other mascara's I'm using. One of the Lash Blasts is Black Brown, all the others are black or Very Black.

lumene CC cream

And of course I'm keeping this. I cannot live without it!

 photo wimmb030514_11_zpsccfbeb5b.jpg

For blushes, one is included in the Tarte palette, but I wanted to use this one by ELF (the contouring blush and bronzer palette), and this one by Ulta called Exposed.

So this is what will be on my face for the next month!

What's in my makeup bag? (As of February 6th, 2014)

Before I get into what's in my makeup bag, I wanted to say I have decided to suspend "my looks" post. I don't feel like I have the right set up right now to continue it. I do plan on resuming in the near future, but for now, I am going to take a bit of a break.

Okay, with that said, on to what's in my makeup bag!

First, I got a new storage container specifically for my Geek Chic eyeshadows.

makeup storage

I picked this up at Target for $2.99. It's a good fit for what I have now, and leaves me plenty of room to grow! And now I also don't have to worry about them moving around a lot inside my other containers or my makeup bag. It's also really great if I want to travel with these. Which I will be this week, because I'm going to San Diego, and taking them all with me! Just in case my sister-in-law wants to play, too.

Okay, now what I'm going to be using this month.

what's in my makeup bag?

Face products: I really, really love that Lumene CC cream. (I'll be posting a review next week!) The Ponds BB+ is still a face, and, of course, my Bare Minerals.
And as a follow up, I did throw out that Lorac powder. Yuck.

what's in my makeup bag?

Blushes: The Bare Minerals on the right is not actually a blush, it's an eyeshadow, but I'm going to try it as a blush. The others are actual blushes.

what's in my makeup bag?

Eyeshadows: I'm really digging the options of the Lorac Pro To Go (it's surprisingly versatile!). The Naked 3 is coming back because I really miss it. And I want to get this NYX palette out and play with the greens and blues.

 photo WIMMB_020614_4_zps67e933ef.jpg

More Eyeshadows: Love that Here Kitty. I actually took the stickers off the bottoms of all my bare minerals eyeshadows and stuck them on the lids, so they could sit properly in my containers and not make a mess. I also decided to bring back Bad to the Bronze. It's great for those mornings where I just don't have time but still want to look put together.

 photo WIMMB_020614_5_zpsbe078d1e.jpg

And Mascara. The Last Blast is in black brown, everything else is in black.
Eyeliners and such remain the same.

And that's what's going on for February! I really intend to use my Geek Chic shadows more than I have been, but also really try to create something new every day when I can. (Some mornings it is just not possible!)
Hope everyone has a wonderful February!

What's In My Makeup Bag? (As of January 16th, 2014)

Time to give getting naked a break!

I bought some hair color at Sally's (along with some nail polish removing pads), and got a free makeup bag! So I decided to isolate my makeup brushes in their own separate bag.
(Side note: They built this really nice new shopping center in my town and it has an Ulta. Now, they're also putting in a Sallys. So in the event of Zombie Apocalypse, you'll find me there.)

 photo wimmb011614_zpsad175581.jpg

Oh, and look what my husband got me for Christmas- the Sonia Kashuk brush set that was available over Christmas!

 photo 62C4F81E-596E-42F1-8F58-4C91838FF172_zpsv9ifb3jh.jpg

I love them so much! They're all so soft and wonderful.

 photo wimmb011614_2_zpsb44ca2b6.jpg

Mascara!!!
I also bought a new Cover Girl Lash Blast Length because I needed it back in my life. So pretend that's pictured there, also.

 photo wimmb011614_3_zpsf7df6f1e.jpg

I really hate that Lorac powder. I need to throw it away. But it's here for now because maybe I'll decide to un-hate it.
And I decided to give that Rimmel foundation another try!

 photo wimmb011614_4_zps62a19b99.jpg

LOOK WHAT I GOT! LORAC PRO TO GO!!! My sister-in-law bought this for me for Christmas- we pretty much always get each other makeup or something makeup related. Because we are both obsessed and feed each other's addictions. But anyway! I'm super excited to have this and have been playing with it a little already, and I really, really like it!
I'm going to do a full review and do a pinspiration post on it soon.

 photo wimmb011614_8_zpscf00a3ae.jpg

Cheek stuff. There are also two blushes and a bronzer in the Lorac Pro To Go palette.

 photo wimmb011614_9_zpsc68eed90.jpg

Along with the palette's, I decided to throw in some single shadows. I'm using Samwise the Brave, Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold, Into the West, One Ring, and I Am No Man from the Geek Chic Fellowship Collection, and Chosen One from the Geek Chic It's Dangerous To Go Alone Collection.

 photo wimmb011614_10_zpsbb5ec1ae.jpg

And I'm tossing in this. Because why not!

I'll be updating my makeup bag now at the beginning of every month. So you guys will see a new bag again really soon!

FTC: The Sonia Kashuk brushes and the Lorac Pro To Go Palette were gifts. Everything else was purchased by me with my own money.
